Julie Foster, Founder of A New Path Life & Grief Coaching
Finding Light Through the Holidays offers a compassionate space for widows to navigate the unique challenges of grief during the holiday season. Together, we’ll explore why this time of year can intensify emotions, learn practical coping tools like mindfulness and journaling, and discover meaningful ways to honor loved ones while creating new traditions. Participants will gain strategies for managing social situations, setting boundaries, and finding comfort in shared understanding. This gathering is about finding light—one memory, one conversation, and one hopeful moment at a time.
Julie Foster is the founder of A New Path Life & Grief Coaching. She holds a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Providence College. Julie is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute, an ICF Level 2 trained Life Transitions Coach, and a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler’s training program.
Julie’s passion is helping individuals navigate the emotional, mental, and sometimes practical challenges that come with loss. Unlike traditional therapy, which often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, grief coaching with Julie is goal-oriented, supportive, and action-focused—it’s about guiding clients through their grief journey in a structured way, in order to figure out a new path forward.
After losing her mother to Glioblastoma in 2018, Julie began her own grief healing journey—one that led her to discover evidence-based grief recovery strategies she now shares with others. With more than a decade of experience as a mental health counselor and over 22 years of sobriety, Julie brings deep empathy and expertise to her work, helping people navigate life’s transitions and find emotional well-being.
Julie is an active member of the Women’s Wellness Committee at The JPH Organization in Marshfield, a community dedicated to healing and transformation. She also volunteers at Hope Floats Healing & Wellness Center in Kingston, a bereavment and education center for those who are grieving, where she co-facilitates a bi-weekly Parent Loss Support Group.
